About Us

At Sleeper Slabs, we believe Pokémon cards are more than collectibles. They’re pieces of history that combine nostalgia, art, and value. Our goal is to help people understand the hobby as both a passion and an alternative asset — something you can enjoy while it grows in value.

Our Story

We’re two cousins, Phillip (32) and David (42), who grew up surrounded by Pokémon.

In the late ‘90s, our aunt owned a 7-Eleven in Anaheim, California, and every summer our big Cambodian family would meet there. The cousins would always crowd around the counter asking for Base Set packs — the same ones that sell for over $10,000 today.

During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Phillip found those cards tucked away at his parents’ house and sent them to PSA. We started paying closer attention to how Pokémon collecting had become its own economy ("Pokénomics") with price transparency between eBay and PSA providing opportunities to find "slept on" cards.

That perspective became the foundation for Sleeper Slabs: a brand built to help others find value in undervalued cards and rediscover the excitement of building a collection that appreciates in value.

What We Collect

Today, we focus on three main areas:

  • Japanese Promos – beautiful, low-print cards with strong collector demand
  • English Vintage – WOTC-era classics and early holo favorites
  • Modern Sealed – long-term holds and iconic sets with future potential
